Building Possibility Together

Funded by SISAL's galip nut sales — 15% of gross revenue powers ABLE's community programs. Every purchase creates possibility.

Empowering Communities, Building Futures

ABLE is a PNG not-for-profit organisation registered with the Investment Promotion Authority — the community development arm of the SISAL family, focused on livelihood empowerment and grassroots capacity building.

🌱 Our Mission

To empower Papua New Guinea's rural communities through livelihood programs that build skills, create opportunities, and strengthen local capacity for self-determined development.

🤲 Our Approach

Community-led, culturally grounded, and outcome-focused. We work with communities to identify their own development priorities, then provide the training, resources, and support needed to achieve them.

🏛️ Our Status

Registered NGO with the PNG Investment Promotion Authority (IPA). Fully constituted with transparent governance, financial accountability, and a board of directors committed to community empowerment.

🤝 Connection to SISAL

ABLE is the not-for-profit sister organisation of SISAL — funded by 15% of SISAL's gross revenue. SISAL builds enterprise through galip nut sales; ABLE builds community through health, education, and climate-resilience programs. Two halves of one possibility.

Our Programs

ABLE runs community-centred programs that build lasting capacity and create measurable impact.

Livelihood skills training 👩‍🌾

Livelihood Skills Training

Practical training programs for rural communities covering sustainable agriculture, food processing, financial literacy, and small enterprise management.

Community monitoring 📊

Community-Based Monitoring

Training communities to collect and use their own data for better decision-making — from crop yields to child nutrition, health outcomes to school attendance.

Food security programs 🌽

Food Security & Nutrition

Promoting diverse, nutritious diets through kitchen gardens, food preservation training, and nutrition awareness in vulnerable communities.

Community governance 🏛️

Community Governance Support

Helping communities establish their own governance structures — village committees, conflict resolution mechanisms, and representation in local decision-making.

Measurable Change

Every community empowered, every skill built, every livelihood strengthened — that's the change we measure.
